Multi-Agency Partnership Formed to Uncover Leads in the Santa Rita Jane Doe Case

April 24th, 2024

DNAhawkshaw Genetic Genealogy is honored to collaborate with the Pima County (AZ) Office of the Medical Examiner to utilize Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG) in generating leads towards the identification of Santa Rita Jane Doe 2000.

The remains of this unidentified female, aged between 50 to 90 years old, were discovered on February 1st, 2000. They were found by dove hunters within the Santa Rita Experimental Range, an ecological research area south of Tucson managed by the University of Arizona. She has remained unidentified for over twenty-four years.

In a strategic alliance, DNAhawkshaw Genetic Genealogy along with a team of independent FIGG analysts have partnered with Intermountain Forensics to leverage a newly established fundraising portal where donations can be made by the public to cover the necessary lab costs. A generous donation from Align Senior Care Consulting, earmarked for identifying elderly John and Jane Does, directly supports this collaborative effort.
